The Big Picture – The Meaning of Life

The best way I can attempt to articulate what I and this blog represents in ‘the big picture’ sense is to defer to the teachings of Eckhart Tolle – one of the most spiritually influential people in the world today. He speaks of his book A New Earth: Awakening to You Life’s Purpose as a “…transformational device that has come out of the arising new consciousness. The ideas and concepts presented…are signposts pointing toward awakening. As you read a shift takes place within you”.

Eckhart goes on to say that his “book’s main purpose is not to add new information or beliefs to your mind or try to convince you of anything, but to bring about a shift in consciousness, that is to say awaken.”

I too will not be trying to convince you of anything. My goal is to present ideas and concepts (signposts) I have learned and applied along the path of life in the aim of pointing you towards awakening so that a transformational shift may take place. What I can promise you, is that everything I write is from my heart, from my inner Spirit and Source. It will either speak to you or it won’t.

Eckhart continues “an essential part of the awakening is the recognition of the unawakened you, the ego as it thinks, speaks and acts, as well as the recognition of the collectively conditioned mental processes that perpetuate the unawakened state.”

That is where this blog is a ‘warts and all’ approach so to speak. An important aspect of this transformation is to reveal our shadow side, accept it and allow the light to shine through. I don’t sugar-coat anything. I write it as I see and feel it – the good, the bad, the ugly and everything in between. Eckhart captures this perfectly “when you recognise the unconsciousness in you, that which makes the recognition possible is the arising consciousness, is awakening. You cannot fight against the ego and win, just as you cannot fight against the darkness. The light of consciousness is all that is necessary. You are the light.”

A word on Evolution

“When faced with a radical crisis, when the old way of being in the world, of interacting with each other and with the realm of nature doesn’t work anymore, when survival is threatened by seemingly insurmountable problems, an individual life-form – or a species – will either die or become extinct or rise above the limitations of its condition through an evolutionary leap.”

This whole area of ‘the meaning of life’ can be best summed up by another spiritual world leader, Dr Wayne Dyer, he says:

“when you make the shift in consciousness allowing yourself to be an agent of heightened awareness, you are contributing to the transformation of our world.”

That is exactly what we are all here to do individually and collectively. I cannot think of a better legacy to leave our kids and future generations.

An Update on Expansion According to Abraham-Hicks

A question was asked of Abraham (“a group consciousness from the non-physical dimension”) about “why do we exist?”. Abraham’s response was “The question is so interesting to us because the mantra from non-physical is more.

  • More Expansion
  • More Love
  • More  Exhilaration
  • More Clarity
  • More Opportunity
  • More Adventure
  • More Exposure to Life
  • More Living
  • More Fun

And when you are saying “Why?” – we say – because it is so fun, because it is so satisfying.

Because it is the nature for a Creator to create.”

The basis of life is freedom, the purpose of life is joy, the result of life is growth
